Over the years at Idaho Image Works we've used many tools to manage or create websites, here are some that may be of use to you. If you find other tools that you think should be on this list please let us know.

File Transfer Tools (FTP and Other)

CuteFTP is an excellent FTP program that makes it easy to upload and download files from FTP sites.

FileZilla is a free, open source FTP program that is both easy to use and secure and has a CuteFTP like look.

WebDrive let's you use a remote FTP site just like a floppy or hard disk, easily copying files from your hard drive to your website.

HTML and CSS

Macromedia DreamWeaver is one of the easiest to use tools to visually manage your website.

Microsoft FrontPage is another popular program used to visually manage websites.

Topstyle makes creating Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) easy, with both free and more powerful paid versions this tool is invaluable to the webmaster.

Office Suites and Word Processors

OpenOffice is an open source office suite and is an excellent and free alternative to Microsoft Office, it is able to open and save Microsoft Office documents and can also convert them to PDF.
